Medical Withdrawal & Exceptions to the         

University Withdrawal Policy

Medical withdrawals are an exception to the University withdrawal policy and should not be used if the student is in the withdrawal period and has not used his or her University withdrawal. 

To request a medical withdrawal, a student must write a letter to Dr. Pomerantz, Vice President for Student Affairs, explaining the medical situation and how it has affected the student's ability to perform academically.  Additionally, medical documentation must be submitted by a health care provider stating the students diagnosis and time of treatment.
